Quoting and Citing Patent Language

GitPat’s desktop application dramatically simplifies the task of quoting patent language and crafting an accurate citation. With GitPat, it’s as easy as clicking and dragging to highlight text within the PDF of the patent itself to create a properly-formatted quotation. No more counting rows! No more deleting carriage returns from Acrobat! And no more fixing the font and font size!

See it in Action

Highlighting the first 6 lines of U.S. Pat. No. 6,192,500’s column 3 (below) within GitPat will create the following fully-qualified citation and automatically add it to your computer’s clipboard, ready for you to paste wherever needed. And, because this is GitPat, if there are math symbols, Greek characters, and additional formatting, those transfer automatically when pasting into your Word document, for example.

In GitPat, highlight the text you would like to copy and cite
